Re: Ordered smartcarbs
Likely when i make progress on the new rods for higher rev ranges and get closer to right. Plugs and response are my primary guide - but yes with the mikunis I ran the rears richer so that is expected, but whether it will be 2, 5 , 10 clicks i dont know. I'll be happy when it runs clean thru the ran...

Re: Brake calipers
Silverstrom has addressed this in a few brake threads - I believe the triumph calipers require a thinner rotor, along with a different mc.

Re: Ordered smartcarbs
They set them up the same as a starting point - they have no direct experience with tuning for this engine, and don't know which cylinder you will put each carb on anyway. Both Nate and Corey are very helpful and knowledgeable - but they have no personal experience with these bikes. Yes, the owner o...

Re: Ordered smartcarbs
Mike, I found my notes from last year - I'm at about 120 clicks and this was pretty good for low speed running . So you might find 100/110 still rich - I check my plugs after each adjustment. After you get the low speed/ clicks sorted, then you move onto high speed/metering rod, which are more like ...

Re: Ordered smartcarbs
I do believe the article was done with it starting, but not ridden, and carbs not dialed in. That (championship) bike was built in CA for a fellow in KS if i recall. I think yours has BST & ohlin etc. Very nice bike. I briefly lurked on FB and they had both popped up in that time. Last fall I sw...

Re: Ordered smartcarbs
There are(i think) 3 rz's with them now, each built different, so they have a starting point but not a spec.

Re: Ordered smartcarbs
You've tried mikuni 28 & 34's before these SC's? And burned a plug? Regarding the float drain screws, if mikuni makes them as a bolt instead of screw that would solve the clearance problem - I haven't looked into this yet. I have installed pod filters but haven't had a chance to get back to tuni...

Re: Engine start problem after TSI mods
Try different boots -
Something with a very solid sole. Maybe Mx type if you have access.
I'm not much different weight wise, and that always made a difference on 500 cc singles(2 & 4 stroke) and old ducati twins.
