Re: Suzuki and legacy MC parts - End of 60/70/80s parts?

Get it from the horses mouth-sih...email the chap that set the Suzuki Vintage Parts programme up, Tim Davies.

He used to attend our local VJMC events but covid has put paid to that.

Re: Fuel

Fuel with Ethanol in it left in carbs will turn to water and gel, then green gloop with crystals in it, all the time eating the alloy away, Ive had to ditch carbs they were so rotten when i bought them. In tanks the water will rust the steel. Old school fuel never did that :/ If you run E85 in a ca...

Re: Fuel

Burning a tankful while riding is not the issue nor a problem. Exactly what I said, im glad you agree ,....but the fuel is getting such bad press from whingers and bike closeters on classic bike pages, they are creating fear for people to use it all. I read on a FB page the other week some chap is ...

Re: Fuel

I digress and will avoid ethanal whenever possible. It kills rubber fast. I have had friends having trouble within the 1st year with brand new 2 stroke outboard engines. Most don't even know E10 requires a special stabilizer. That is what happens without proper stabilizer when fuel is only a few mo...

Re: Yamaha parts on Ebay in Malesia... are original?

....also consider he regulary claims many of these items are NOS...when they are not! I bought a new trim for me seat lock direct from Yamaha a few years back for £3 something but he had them on sale at £30! ALWAYS check your Yamaha dealer as 90% of the time parts claimed as NOS on eBay are not and ...

Re: Fuel

Standard RDs? Tescos....love me clubcard points...If not, when im out and im low on fuel, I use what ever the nearest petrol station has, pushing bikes is not my idea of fun...Dont worry to much about ethanol in use, we've taken a few 2 strokes to France where they have had E10 for years and they do...

Re: Fuel tap question

Its a friction fit.

Ive successfully pushed these outlets back in on both my 350LC and KR1 and used clear silicone sealant to keep them secure.

Re: Petrol tap

Its a vacuum tap as standard so leave it in the "On" or "Res" position...leaving it on "Pri (me)" means an unhindered fuel flow and the possibility of a flooded engine if a needle valve lets the fuel pass....

Re: Recommended UK (North West) Mechanic

Alan from RD Stokeys Motorcycles is excellent, he rebuilt my engine a couple of years back, has done many 500s and knows his way around them.

He is based in Stoke on Trent, I know he has cut back on the amount of spannering he does but worth a try...Alan 07909 995377

Just get it to someone with a dyno mate and experience of setting them up mate, it isnt that expensive and it will net you the best result . Fair few people to choose from.
