Re: Seat pad foam
First step is done... Tomorrow I will do the CAD model and forward it to get an offer. Had to make it white for scanning - on the rear side it`s not possible to wash it off after scanning :smt013 :smt011 I think I have to paint it black again with some plastic color. Bravo eccellente! Your sacrific...

Re: Seat pad foam
I followed your lead here and inquired the prospects of them making a replica pad for the RZ/RD/RZV500 and the reply was they would need to sell a minimum of 100 pads to cover the costs of setting up production. Maybe if more ask they’ll consider it?

Re: Under Fuel Tank Foam Strips
I bought two just to see and they look close, about the right length and height (or thickness) but I think only about 1/2 the width guesstimating by looking at them and John’s photo. 2 could be glued together side by side and probably do the job but I’m going to keep looking for a better match. It’s...

Re: RZ/RZV Original Yamaha Paint
This is an unedited photo taken in very bright afternoon Florida sun, the two sides have been cleaned and polished while the lower center has not had anything done, for comparison. I spent about 3-4 hours cleaning by hand the two sides with a soft clean cotton cloth and 3M Perfect-It EX 36060 compou...

Re: RZ/RZV Original Yamaha Paint
Happy to report the “old yellowed“ finish on my panels was just a wax buildup that had discolored, I suspected as much as I run into this all the time. I really don’t like wax for anything other than a mold release agent and never apply it to painted surfaces, rather I prefer a hand glaze that doesn...

I have never seen this part but I guess it should be somewhere in the front cowl.

I found a Yamaha part superseded with different prefix, the picture looks about right but I’m not sure...

Is this the link to the Japanese site offering RZV 51X (type 00, 01 and 02 メインも含む全系統ヒューズを 「フロントカウル内」に集約した製品 all fuses consolidated at front), and RZ 52X (type 00 and 01 当社製ヒューズボックスユニット付 with fuse box kit) wiring harness? http://business4.plala.or.jp/hi-side/Hi-Side.products-MainHarness-YAMAHA.htm...

Re: My project (1GE)
These guys cut the rim and weld wider elements to accomplish a completely stock but wider rim. For the RD500 they offer 4.75x18 and 3.75x17 for around 630/690 Euro each (incl German TÜV approval) : https://www.deget.de/yamaha-rd-500-felgenverbreiterung/ Wow! I like those specs, they’re a modest inc...

Re: New beginning... RZV aluminum
I think we all knew this would be a huge undertaking and fair play to you that youve got on with it and sourced so many parts in the short time youve been going. These are not an easy bike to buy bits for really. good work! Thank you, and yes it has been an adventure of sorts, almost literally ever...

Re: My project (1GE)
https://abload.de/img/and_sectxkj5c.jpg https://abload.de/img/and_explnikdq.jpg I was thinking about the wheel castings or maybe CNC machine from your scans, it suddenly dawned that a 17” front and wider 18” rear, possibly to fit larger axles, could be made by editing the renders such that they cap...
