I wish to replace my shock with one from a F4 Honda. Does it matter the orientation of the shock - it appears that the reservoir could be located next to the battery, but this appears to be backwards relative to operational direction of the shock.
Thanks in advance

Re: F4 replacement shock
All I can tell you is not to do it - it will cost as much or more as doing it right and buying an Penske or Ohlins or something!

Re: F4 replacement shock
The spring rates are all different. You can do it, but why would you? Someone did it with an R1 shock I believe... check archives..
D
Re: F4 replacement shock
I briefly considered it and was glad someone talked me out of it - the F3 shock is the best fit I think - I have the one that was closest here if you really want to try, you can have it. You will need to revalve, put a new spring on it and you have to drill your front mounts to match which will forever modify an irreplacable part - in the end you will spend as much as the aftermarket costs.
Rob
