If you do the R 6 conversion and you want your bike to turn, steering lock to function and the stock speedo to work, let me know. :smt004

Would like to know the R6 lock to lock trick please.

Thanks,

I cut off the stock R6 & RZ stops and installed the two aluminum blocks with some Marlite attached at the contact zone (fork tubes) I saw this at the Long Beach show in 2011 on a GSXR race bike. If you want some of this Marlite i have enough left over for 100 bikes, I'm giving it away for free. Tell me if you want the dimensions of the material. Look and you will see the stops in the pic.

I'm glad someone finally asked. The drive unit is called Cable X, The company is located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas that makes it. The box is about 1 7/8" x 3 1/2" x 4" and weighs about 2 lbs. ,the drive cable is around 36" long. I'm using a Anti Gravity 12v lite weight battery and the draw is next to nothing, so no problem there. I chose to mount it under the tank, It fits nicely once you remove that stupid airbox. You can use a sensor on the front or rear wheel, I used a GPS receiver mounted under the tail section ( no exposed wires ). The good is it works great and you can't see it, The bad is it costs 350. 00 for the box, 145.00 for the GPS, 35.00 for the cable and 30.00 to have one end of the cable modified by a speedo shop and it weighs aprox.2 lbs ( I pinch loafs that big). I think this the only way possible to keep and use the beautiful stock instruments. This is the link that shows the cable X in action.

I forgot to mention that the box is fully adjustable by way of dip switches, My speedo of course reads in Kilometers, so for instance i'm doing 80 kph, It's really 80 mph or ever which way you want.

Hi Donny,

Many thanks for your explanation - sounds a good idea for keeping things looking original.

That's brilliant, if a bit pricey. Well done. :-)

Donald,

What is the extra red switch in the left hand handlebar switches?

Hi Donny,
whose upper triple clamp is that? I assume that is how you get the steering lock to work.

Thanks,
jason

Very nice work!! :smt007

I too have a few questions.

Where is your build thread located? (I'd like to see more of your work.)
What year R6 forks are you using?
Is that the OEM RZV ignition mounted in your upper triple?
Could you give the stem center to ignition lock center measurement?
What are the 2 allen head bolts on the upper triple for? (Locking the clip-ons?)

You gonna bring it to Hanson Dam next month? :smt006
