Thank you very much for the information.
Today I will assemble a new radiator. Imported from China, hope it will work well.
If I find the time, I will look also at the carbs.

I disassembled the carbs, but everything looked clean, all jets looking brand new. What I recognized after lifting the fuel tank was, that 2 joke cables were twisted. That leads to a half way pulling of the joke at upper right joke. Maybe this was the only problem.
Hm, only problem, I think the carb mechanism is bullshit, bad engineering.
If some money and time is left, I will replace them with Mikuni TM carbs. TM 32-61. But this will lead to a lot of additional work. Let´s see in autumn.
Attached a pic. of the new radiator. 5 cooling pipes more and the width of the rips is 22mm instead of 16mm (original).

Hey guys,
small update.
After checking several things at my lady, more and more issues were found which could lead to the less power.
- The fuel level at carburettor 1 and 3 was not correct adjusted.
- The fuel drain inside the carburettor 4 for joke was closed.
- Strange for me is that at all carbs are beside the air nozzle should be a drain locked with a ball. At my carbs is a screw and being is also a nozzle. Do not know why and for what? (see pictue) :-?
- According to the black surface of the piston (top) are the main jets to big or the air filter is polluted.
- Slight leakage at the lower cylinder head (only to outside). Changing the gasket.
- The bracket of the upper ignition coil was broken.
- The fuel connector at the fuel tank was dirty, less fuel flow.
- The connection of the electrical harness to the YPVS control unit was not stable. Loose connection at the connector in combination with vibrations.

Hope that´s all and not more problems will get found.
I will dress her up today for a small ride and send later pictures in dressed condition.

So, back from the first short ride.

She is running better, but:
1. strange sound, lower two pipes are having the known sound beng-bää-deng-deng-deng. The upper much more deeper in the sound, rom-bodom-bom-bom (sound like my beta trial, which is built for torque at low rpm).
2. A big vibration between 6500-8500 rpm
Based on this I was worried that the upper 2 cylinders are defect. Measured the compression. Upper both 6,4 bar, lower 6,5 and 7,0 bar. Looks okay for me.
I recognized a bit oil was running out at the connection of the exhaust LH and RH at the upper cylinders. Based on my straight upper pipes the not burned oil is running back to the cylinders, maybe this is the reason for the different sound. I sealed the connection new. Not to get fresh air pulling back into the cylinder.
I´m also not so happy with the temperature and the cooling system. I did not push her very hard and using a bigger radiator. Temperature is still going up to 73°C. At my 250 I´m going with 55-60°C to get the full power. Also the valve in the locking cap is opening if I go 2km with high rpm (upper 9000) and water is going out. Pressure inside the cooling system high. Did anyone change the cap to a one with 1.1bar? Any problem?

I´m still not so happy with the power, let´s see, what she will show at the dyno.
Attached are some pictures in dressed street outfit.
Hope you will like her.

PS:
I know the fork foots should be black. Will get done, when I will get my ordered PVM rims.

Which tailpiece is used on this bike?

Looks similar to one I saw on Wolfgang's bike, but I thought that was a one-off fabrication.

Hey Smoker,
The fairing is a YZR 500 (1998) replica from Moto Forza.
Sure there are some modification needed and you could not use it, if you ae using normal pipes.
You have to have straight ones.
Attached is a picture of the original delivery condition. I placed my spare part on top.

Hi 3XV,
this is a phamtastic looking bike, from every angle the proportions are just perfect. Who made these pipes?

Hello Wolfgang,

I do not know. I got them with the bike.
You are the guy from Austria, or?
You did the modification with the dry clutch.
Really nice. I´m really jealous about it. :smt010 :smt007

I will be at the 15./16.6. at the Pannonia circuit. Will you also be there?
But not sure, if I will take the 500 with me for testing a few turns.
I normally go with my 250.

Hey ,
oh, I would not use her in this dress at the track.
The painting was too expensive to see it got damaged.
This could happening at the race track from time to time. :smt010
It does not look so good to ride her at Pannonia,
I ´m still struggling with the preparation of the race fairing. :-x
I think everybody who tried to fix a YZR 500 fairing to a RD agrees that is a hell of work.

The RD is much taller, so you have to YZR fairing into pieces and extend them in the height.

And the time is running out. I also have to prepare my 250.
If you like I could post some pictures.

@ Wolfgang,

If you have one modification kit for dry clutch in stock and willed to offer them.
I´m interested.
I could pick it up on the Way to Pannonia.
Send me a mail, if.
