ZX750E (GPZ750 Turbo)
Just finished this one, Very low mile bike, The turbo unit was missing when I bought it, PO had a leak in the oil line 22 years ago and removed the turbo unit and sent it out for repair and forgot about it, Sat in the garage by a window which completely faded the paint,
I picked up a fully rebuilt and modded turbo for more boost from Charlie @ Evergreen Turbo in FL, Top guy, a genius with any turbo unit, Removed the airfilter and pipes and replaced it with a KN filter direct on the turbo.
Repainted by my guy, Took 4 months as hes seriously backed up, But turned out beautiful,
Stripped the wheels and cleaned them back to original, now that was a lot of hours, All new bearings in the wheels, all suspension bearings and head race bearings.I fitted a new oil pump and relief valve, modded the sump for more oil flow to the turbo, New clutch metals and fibers and fitted a Magura Hydraulic clutch as the OEM is a beast to pull, Valves all checked and adjusted, Fuel system completely stripped and cleaned and the tank was a rust hell mess!!!!
Lots of other small niggly things, replaced most of the nuts/bolts as they were all rusted out.
Brakes were completely stripped and new seals and pistons and pads, New Venhill brake lines also, Dot5 fluid and all good...
Sounds great

Re: ZX750E (GPZ750 Turbo)
I remember having a test ride on one in the 80's. The power seemed amazing and it could spin the back wheel by cracking the throttle open. I settled for the non-turbo version but only had it a year as it didn't handle well or keep up with the new GSXR 750.

Re: ZX750E (GPZ750 Turbo)
I was going to say, I remember the reviews on these and the Honda... had a Saab 99 turboback then and interesting as a turbo bike was, the thought of throttle response anything like the cars of the Era kinda put me off the idea.
The point of a turbo doesn't make much sense for a bike, but certainly an interesting engineering exercise - and worth saving for that alone.
