Hello chaps,

Since I have now finished rebuilding my bike since my last track day (!), I think it's time to show her:

Your bike looks great! Where did you get that tail section from?

I got the tail section from Wyn B. Craftmanship was superb, but it's a little tight around the chambers.

Steen - bike is lookin' real good after your getoff at the track.... nice work...

Do you have any "before" pics of the bike showing your crash damage?

Looks like R1 rotors and calipers in front... what is the brake setup in the rear?

Tom,

No I don't have any "before" pics, but the damage wasn't to bad. In large it was cosmetic damage (all plastics either broken or scratched, bent clip-ons and dented chambers), but man - are oem fairings expensive or what?
I got a new RZ fairing out of Canada that got the traditional coat of pearl white. The "decals" are airbrushed on by the way. The painter refused to apply the decals and stripes, so he chose to airbrush all of it on instead. I didn't complain, although the wife was a bit surprised when she saw the invoice  Notice that he rezised the "RD500" and "YPVS" on the tail section to a better fit.

Anyway - I need the last bit of detailing, but now I just want to use the moped for the rest of the season, since it has been of the road for 14 months now.

The brakes are stock R1 in front with a Brembo brake pump and a cheap aftermarket rotor in rear with a Vmax brake caliber.

So far I have only been doing 40 kilometers (in 30°C) and the tail section got very hot. Even though I modified the upper pipes they still fit very closely in there, so there's only room for a thin layer of heat shielding. I kind of expect that I will get problems, but only time can tell.
