Publication of my Rainey Replica in magazine

#1 Post by wolfgangh » Tue Aug 26, 2008 2:11 pm

Hello,
I attended a 2-stroke meeting in July with 3 of my bikes - my SUZUKI GT750, the stock RD500 and my RD500 Rainey Replica. I have won first price for best bike above 400cc and the Austrian bike magazine "DER REITWAGEN" - who organized that event - featured my bike in their latest issue together with an interview with me. I am the one with the red DAINESE / DUCATI dress(and no hair)

Very cool. I must say that I have always liked your bike. It has given me inspiration for my own bike build.

Thanks, Dave

I must say, you're looking very sharp in those leathers!

Your Rainey 500 is also one of my all-time favorite bikes.

Cool article - but I wish I could read it. :smt102

Ya, I wish I could read it myself ! Looks great in the pics. Love how small and 'ready to pounce' the little 500 looks....awesome. Also nice to see the KTM 250. Those have to be the nicest looking bike in the whole MotoGP paddock.

Cheers

Actually I just noticed that the pattern of my DAINESE-leather gear looks like a upside-down MARLBORO Logo, so it DOES fit to my Rainey bike...
during this meeting I agreed with the magazine that they will arrange a tracktest of my bike with Andy Meklau, who is an ex-Superbike winner on DUCATI 888 (he won a superbike WM race 1993 in front of Fred Merkel, Carl Fogerty etc).
Andy started his career on two-strokes (TDR250 challenge). He still holds the lap record on hungarian Pannoniaring.

I only hope he wont atomize my bike, but I look forward to hot pictures of his ride!

Yeah, I'd be extremely nervous (that's putting it lightly), but you're right - the feedback and photos could be great.

Please shoot lots of pics and video, you know there are many of us that want to see the testing. :-)

How about a nice wheelie photo crossing the finish line? Andy can probably do that in his sleep!
