Hi,
i would need some pictures of original steering head nuts (47X and 1GE or also others).
Facts i found out until now:
- Part number 90176-22050
- I have 2 directly from the bike, both have machined hexagon faces
- RD500 and some other Bikes like the FZR600R are using the same nut (completely same part number), but they are NOT the same.
The hexagon faces of the FZR600 nut are not machined like the 2 RD nuts, but it is chromed.
- The part is superseded, the new black nut is the same as the FZR600 nut just with differend surface finish.
=> I want to know if all RD500 have this machined nuts or if some (maye later) RD500 have the "FZR600" nut.

Re: Steering head nut
Hi Michael
I have noticed this as well and have not used the superseded nut as it looks wrong.
As far as i know all the 500`s had the machined nuts

Re: Steering head nut
You are the best
Then it is worth to rechrome the original nut.
Or i can try to machine the black nut that it looks like the original.
One more rare item...
