Hello Steve,

Oh yes - he got it for me

Very handy bloke to be friendly with

Strange but true - but I was just looking at the paperwork for my bikes (insurance time) and I realised that I've had the 500 for 9 years now

It's on sorn at present - motors not as strong as it should be and the body work has had it.

I have some good bodywork for her - so a rebuild is on the cards.

It won't happen for a while, been renovating a bungalow for my retirement which is a little way away but time just seems to go, as I'm sure you all agree.

Been collecting bits over a period of time - now I just need money and time.

Cheers Bill

The top rear sprocket is from the 47X ,1GE and 53G and the lower sprocket from the RZV500 ,both are 38 tooth. The 52x Canadian bikes had a 40 tooth rear sprocket as standard and looked the same as the top sprocket.

I thought that the only ones to come with the aluminum frames were the ones that were sold in Japan?

Hi Iceman,Only Steel sprockets fitted from the factory in bright zinc. When brought from a Yamaha dealer they are supplied black and are listed as black in the parts list for some reason.

The RZV500R sender is shorter and has only one air vent hole and one oil outlet hole, as the RZV didn't have the sub tank this sender will put the light on earlier than the 47X sender.

Thanks for that Steve. I had no idea. I have several senders here and was under the impression all were the same since the RZ and RZV use the exact same large oil tank.

If both the RZ and RZV use the same large oil tank, why bother with a shorter sender? Why tell the rider he is low on oil at 1/2 tank with the RZV when the RZ doesn't tell the rider until much later? The sub tank means nothing in either case.

As I have mentioned previously, the senders are mostly useless anyway and riders should be keeping tank full.
