fuel cap place ment/

just been watching rz video tech on u tube. the rzv they use has a filler cap placed on right hand side of centure . also the ally frame has 2 bolt lug on inside of up railes . would this bike be a prototype machine ?. cheers peet.

None of the RZ/RD series had the fuel cap anywhere but dead center on the tank... so suspect it may have been a custom?

Yep, I saw it.

The fuel filler cap on the OEM RZ500 in the video is in the same position as on the '84-'85 RZ350 USA version.

Very interesting!

how diffrent is the rz350 tank to the 500 tank . did you see thr black seat cowel knobs to. prob lots of dif in there . peet

I believe the tanks are quite a bit different.

Did you catch the choke lever? It looks a lot different than mine.

That video is the original service video from Yamaha. The RD in the vid was a prototype with several prototype parts fitted, hence things like the unusual-looking choke.... :-)
