not having luck

#1 Post by gus » Thu Jul 30, 2009 6:56 pm

guys I'm having a little problem with the look up, if I type in base gasket it says 0 if I want a part by name its not helping me, am I doing something wrong or is there a place where I can get the part number like in the US where we can find out part numbers at my Yamaha, just curious

Gus,

Just type in gasket. And make sure that you have chosen "search by description." I just did it and found the base gaskets.

Gus, the problem is, the Yamaha descriptions are not great, so its not easy to search by description.
If you do, you have to be VERY basic with your searches.

Gus, when I've gone to dealers for parts up here they use the US Yamaha parts website for numbers and then copy it into their Canadian pricing/ordering application. I have to tell them to use the fiche for parts I know aren't going to be the same or are unavailable in the US.

thats what we need to do, take the fiche that some of us have and have all the pages copied and then those copies posted to the website then we can look up parts in the look up by their no., I am gonna make a serious effort to make a bunch of new parts pretty soon from pistons to gaskets, seals, bearings but if they are available from Yamaha those will not be a priority

Hi Gus,Have a look at this link,it shows the 47x,51x and 52x part numbers.I am hoping hybrid can add a link soon so i can upload a photo of the part as well as the number. The parts list is about done now, there maybe a few numbers out there which i have not seen but 99.9% of them are on the look up tool.It has taken over four years to complete but i am glad it`s helping people from the group.

Can I ask what you guys do when you find yourself with a damaged impella shaft and need to have it replaced? This part is discontinued and there is no alternative number for it. Anyone here got any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

Used part, NOS part, refurbish the part or make a reproduction part.
I don't think that a reproduction part is already available.

RD350 YPVS 31K 1985
Honda CBR 1000 RR SC57
