I found that when I wanted bearings made for my crankshafts, KOYO would not do them as they were OEM only. I can get all 4 bearings made, but they want to make 1000 of each one. And the whole bill will probably be under $6500 USD, which is cheap. The problem is.......What the heck am I going to do with an extra 954 bearings, because thats about the number Ill have left. IF they'll let me purchase 100 of each I would do that. But hang in there I still have not heard back from Eddie.

the tall clutch bearing is the most difficult one , 25-47-8.5 is an unusual size

in every engine i opened they ve installed ball bearings , only yamaha goes for needle bearings

we need to change to a ball bearing with double races if we want to find a matching one

lets move on without the bearings until Ed gets back with me or someone else, I have a set of ported barrels something like TSI I think and would like to change the head a bit some thoughts?

What pistons are we going to use? I mean, then head needs to match (squish band and all). I have a TZR 3MA head that has a much nicer chamber than the RZ500's if you want to look at that. I think it's doable on the 500 head without having to hit the "add metal" or "remove metal" buttons too much.

Steve

No, it's a 3MA reverse cylinder head. Much nicer looking than a 1KT/2KT head (which is nearly the same as the 500 head). Wider squish band, better bowl, (less of a cone than the 500's) etc... We are talking 5 years later in the 2T development. Probably the best street going (pump fuel) 2T chamber that there will ever be.

Not that it would bolt on, as the 500 head has a bigger cylinder spacing, but we could copy the chamber.

Steve

Gus , the 2MA-1kt /2XT head fit straight on .....3MA does nt ....see pic

left is 1KT-2MA and 2XT also (about same as RD500)....right is 3MA (wider squishband)....uses the longer treaded plugs also

our good friend Mark Brown (GP Customs) has given me a few heads and cylinders off a 1KT to play with, PV's were different than the 500 and no fill for water in the cylinder I think this is where the cooling mod on the engine topic originated from because they must be routing the water out of the cases as it goes in the head but no outlet, I have never seen one so am not sure, but my thought on the heads is removable domes so we can do what ever we want, I will post a pic of Gary's heads and we can go from there.
