An obscure Motorcycle Novel

Going through my Images I was reliving my days as a salesman. In the Cycle Canada post I mention author George Jonas being a frequent visitor to the shop and recall that he bought an FZ750 5 valve when they came out. He was a real enthusiast and revelled in motorcycle chat. He was working on various projects at the time but one close to his heart was always in his thoughts. I think in retrospect this relatively unknown novel by a literary powerhouse was more of a testimonial through which he conveyed his passion for the sport. A Passion Observed is a Novel about Canadian Roadracer Frank Mrazek who beat out Steve Baker at the Canadian GP in1976. Jonas and Mrazak had a similar history growing up racing motorcycles in the easternblock of europe, both emigrating to Canada and maintaining their passion for racing. George continued in the VRRA into his 70's. Just wanted to pass it on as he was a Bike Guy at heart. I wish I had my copy signed but never saw him again after 1986. The upside being it was an honour to have known him.
