Hi,

Mark Dent still working

The top and bottom pipes are definitely oversized which will help with the BHP on the bike, will measure them and let you know.

Thanks Ade

Hope he still in business? Btw what size is the belly section of the pipes ?,they seem huge!

Been a while since I have posted anything to do with the bike, but works been crazy and had little time to do that much.

Finally got the exhausts sorted - Stripped them, again, and clear lacquered them and they look fine.

Wiring completed with quick shifter, zeeltronic and translogic dash - All nice and tidy and hidden away.

Carbs and cables completed along with the radiator hoses.

Tank is now finished and fits the bike well.

The fairings have been a nightmare - At last the moulds of the original fairings are finished, I have got a twill set completed and fitted which look great.

I am picking up the carbon set next Friday so I can then dry fit these in preparation for painting. I now have the moulds from an original set, front and tail fairing, and also created another lift up tail fairing with a removable piece over the wheel for much easier access.

It is booked it for painting the following week with Larry Frost at Illusion in Northamptonshire.
Going for the XR89 blue & white colour scheme. He painted my Yamaha 500 rep and did a fabulous job so can be assured of another good one with this.

Can then get it started and set up, but I think I might have missed the summer days to ride it this year, but still hopeful!

Will post a few further pictures once the bike is finished.

Hi Ade,

That is just so beautiful !!! - amazing standard of work.

Can I ask who did your fairings ? - I wonder if they could be persuaded to do a set of my 91 YZR/RD fairings and seat unit ?

Cheers
Paul

Modified RD500 tank. That's gotta be a first.
If I disagree with everyone, that doesn't make me right. If I take the side of only one, it doesn't end the fight. If my position's strong enough from exposure to the light, you may see things my way when we share the same highway.

Hi Paul,

I use a guy in Earl Shilton who is very good and assume is not that far from you.

Happy to drop you all of the details if you would like them.

Many Thanks

Ade

Very well spotted Rick.

Yes it is a re-worked RD tank - Has a Yamaha R6 top on it and a breather pipe insert and is fitted with a race filler cap.
