Re: Modded RG500 in England
Wow. Where to begin....
Let's work front to back. You have high dollar Ohlins forks with nice clamps and Brembo calipers with China cheap-o rotors. The brake reservoir blocks the view (from the saddle) of the temp gauge. There are no fork stops on the lower T-clamp because the bars never turn far enough to make use of them. The USD's interfere with the fairing bracket midway through the stock turning radius. All in all, a nasty combination of parts that will get you hurt. I can't tell for sure, but it looks like a 3x17 RGV front wheel with a 120 tire which creates an unstable profile and should be fitted with a 110/70. The tire is brand new so I can't see a wear pattern but it is a common mistake. The RGV swingarm and rear wheel assembly with hugger fender is totally incompatible with the stock exhaust and will impact the pipes mid travel with evil effect. No comment on the shock. The RGV sprocket cush drive is very weak (hollow engagement fingers) and expecting half the torque of the 500 output and has been known to fail. The speedo shows less than 4k miles. I highly doubt that's accurate. Says the motor is original with no piston rattle. I've never known a water cooled motor to have audible rattle before a piston failure. Missing mirrors aren't easily replaced. There's no functional key operated steering lock since the forks can't turn far enough to reach the edge of the lock tab on the frame.

If I disagree with everyone, that doesn't make me right. If I take the side of only one, it doesn't end the fight. If my position's strong enough from exposure to the light, you may see things my way when we share the same highway.

Re: Modded RG500 in England
I can confirm the failed rear cush drive using it on my RD500.
Not a nice situation when you're overtaking a big truck and suddenly your engine just revs like hell, but there's no more acceleration. I was lucky the chain didn't block the rear wheel - that'd at least doubled the fun ...
