Possible leak path - Fix applied now

#1 Post by 1601pete » Fri Jun 16, 2017 6:19 pm

Hi. A couple of my oil pipe unions that fit into the reed block rubbers are a bit loose and turn reasonably easily. I'm worried about a possible air leak path. What have people done to over come / seal these up. Just in case!

Thanks in advance

Pete

I have just re fitted by oil pump and new clear hoses. I also noted that the pipe fittings could be rotated.
Not sure if it has an effect. I am rejetting at the moment as I have gone a bit too rich in the mid range.

If you're worried about leaks you can test to give yourself some peace of mind. Start the bike and while it's running spray some carb cleaner around the oil inlet fittings. If your RPM increases you have a leak. If the RPM doesn't increase you have nothing to worry about.

Problem solved

O ring around oil injector union shaft and a little bracket to compress and keep it in all in place
