Thanks for the information. I'm looking at getting a speedo drive from the 85 FZ750 Yamaha and the same speedo gauge.

I'm in the middle of rebuilding some Suzuki RG250 and RG500 gauges. The speedometers are calibrated for a set # of revolutions per kilometer. The RG250 and RG500 speedos are different and about 200 revolutions apart. About 1200 and 1400 revolutions.

Yamaha follows the same logic.

Silverstrom.....I picked up a speedo drive and speedometer from a 1985 Yamaha FZ750. It works great now and reads only about 3-4 mph higher than actual speed. Looks the same as the RZ speedo.

FZ750 speedo is the same as the RZ500 speedo other than the needle being red. They use the same wheels so the speedos will be the same as well.

No Japanese speedo is accurate. They all tend to read 7 to 8 percent high.
