Auto lube system

#1 Post by Beas » Fri Sep 22, 2017 4:40 pm

I am looking for opinions on what I am thinking of doing. My plan is to remove the inlet pipe to the oil pump and spray in some Seafoam Deepcreep to keep the check valves operating freely. I occasionally use spray Seafoam into the carburetor intakes with the air cleaners removed and while the engine is running. This does a wonderful job of removing carbon from the combustion chamber. Let me know what you think of this plan. Thanks!

You spray seafoam into a 2 stoke engine!!! I love seafoam, I use it on everything except for a smoker, The seafoam will wash in around the crank bearings and small and big ends and wash out the 2-stroke oil!!! I would not recommend doing this on a smoker!!

As for the check valves and running sea foam through the pump, Again, I dont think this is the way to go, I clean my check valves by removing them and spraying them with brake cleaner. Dont spray them with the full blast from the nozzle, Just spray it in from a distance till it flows from the valve, I have freed up a lot of check valves doing it this way. Oh, And be very careful removing and replacing the check valves, They are delicate and they can snap very easily.
