Autolube adjustment question
Relative to the hash mark on the autolube pump body, if the lever arm adjusted to the right that is richer...correct?? and left is leaner.
Right now when the bike is idling the round hole with the hash mark is lined up with the hash mark on the pump body and when the bike is off the far right hash mark on the arm is lined up with the mark on the pump body.

Excellent, will be needing this shortly!......,.Hopefully!
Re: Autolube adjustment question
Re the newsletter above, when recommissioning the bike after empting both oil tanks, is it simply a case of refilling the oil tank(s) and bleeding the oil pump in the normal way via the pipe near the rh engine case.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Autolube adjustment question
Well I drained the tanks and found the oil I had been using was mixing with what was left of the old stuff , making a magenta coloured oil...It looks dirty but its just tainted..
As no one come back on my question re running the bike after emptying the oil tanks, I intend to run the bike on a gallon of premix (after refilling the tanks !) and bleeding the pump before and after a first Spring ride, should cover it then.

Re: Autolube adjustment question
It's been around 10 years since I've rebuilt my bike but I do remember priming the oil pump with a flat head driver in a battery drill which fit into a slot on pump and running drill until oil came out of 4 oil pump tubes as they join inlets. The pre mix tanks will work too but you might have some fouling issues when oil pump stars delivering.
Please keep diesels from our roads
Re: Autolube adjustment question
Hi Bryan, assuming the only thing you have done is drain the oil tank you should be OK bleeding at the pipe on the RH side as the oil pipes to the engine and the oil pump should still be full of oil.
Sorry if I am stating the obvious, but it's worth meticulously cleaning the inside of the Oil tanks (I used a strong degreaser and washed and dried the tanks) and was amazed at the amount of slime/sludge that had settled in them over the 30 plus years.
I would also add a little premix as a safety backup, but not too oil rich
Paul
