My workshop manual is a bit 2D and not well copied.
A film showing how to yank the engine correctly would be welcome.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi,
Excellent video recommendation by Steve !
In addition....
I would recommend that you remove the generator and the clutch cover, clutch and also the transmission oil pump cover - this should make the job significantly easier. I used a small scissor lift to slide the engine onto for engine removal and re-installation - just put a cloth or towel onto the scissor lift which will stop scratches and make sliding the engine onto the platform of the scissor lift much easier. I would recommend protecting the frame with bandages or thin rope wrapped around the frame rails - this will stop the frame and the engine getting scratched.
If you're taking the bike completely to bits the easiest way is to disassemble the bike until you're left with an engine and the frame - lay the assembly onto its side using cloths and towels to protect the engine then remove the frame from the engine.
As with the video its best to have two people doing this. Don't ask your wife to hold the engine though - its around 55kg !
Cheers
Paul
