Turn ignition on and wait for the valves to move to the open position.
From now, valves won't move anymore, so you can turn ignition off if you want.

Watched a you-tube video on how to calibrate the YPVS system, My power valves don't move as far as the ones in the video, however my oil pump is correctly calibrated. Bike has been sitting for a long time, could the YPVS controller have lost its programming? If so how do we fix it. Thanks Malcolm.

That's the purpose of this video : you must first adjust the position of the valves when they are fully opened and then adjust the position of the pump.
The YPVS controller is hard-switched, not programmable, so no risk for it to loose its programming.
Anyway, it sometimes fails, but in this case, generally, ignition sequence doesn't occur.
Do you mean your valves don't travel enough ? or that they don't stop at the right position ?
