Crankcase Grommets

#1 Post by steveho » Wed Feb 21, 2018 5:28 pm

Hi, anyone know the purpose of the crankcase grommets (item 5 below), part number 47X-15487 ? Can’t see what they are sealing against.....
Just built an engine without them, and will need to get a couple for completeness, but am curious....
Thanks.

To keep crud out.

I think they're NLA from Yamaha, but should be easy enough to make with similar material.

Thanks Silverstrom, I didn’t think they were mission critical, but it’s reassuring to get confirmation. I’ll make something suitable as a substitute.
Cheers.
