Hello Again,
We are in the process of installing the clutch basket which via its large gear connects the two cranks together.
When you assemble the clutch basket you first place a flat thrust washer, then the clutch.
After this you place another thrust washer. We believe this thrust washer (which has an inner spline) goes next.
We are expecting this thrust washer with spline to actually remain in contact with the spline. It does not. Which perhaps is not the end of the world. However when the clutch washer butts up against the inner thrust basket... it is loose. Now the wash will be "squished" and will not move inward and outward... along the axle. However, it can move... lets say north, east, south, west around the axle to a small degree.
We are concerned about having done something wrong!!! It just seems not right/cheesy.
We do note that if we continue assembly from here... Things do seem to line up.
For reference please see attached picture.
