Any members from here planning on going to the Laguna Seca MotoGP event this month? I'm working on getting Yamaha parking passes again and wanted to get an early head count....

Tom,

I'll be there -probably on my new FJR1300 camping in turn 10. As with every year that I go I'd like to bring my RZ in my van for the Yamaha track laps but ended up with the FZ-1 last year and the FJ-1200 the year before. Between space & vehicle permits in the campsite (I'm a guest), fuel cost, and being able to do the white-knuckle mile after mile lane split up 101 going home it is what it is...
So I hope to get my FJR on the track this year. Any news about that? Last year we ended up needing special tickets plus the wrist bands for the Yamaha track laps.

See you very soon,
Tom

Cool. I'm riding my FJR13 up to Monterey as well (RZ will be with the wife in the back of the chase truck... )

Pretty sure the Yamaha track ride will be on Friday morning of race weekend, and if they do it like last year you'll need a wristband for entrance to the staging area inside the lakebed parking area outside of Turn 5. I should know more about getting some of those in the next week.

I'll be there Tom. Haven't missed one yet since going for the first time in 1990.

I'll be in my usual spot way up at the top of the hill above the old MX track.

Tom,
Thank you very much for arranging this for us every year and mailing the parking passes. :smt024
So Friday we'll gather at the Yamaha parking corral, sign the waiver, then queue up for the track laps by 11:20, no special lap ticket required?

Yup.... that's what I'm told from the Yamaha upper echelon... and that's how it played out last year.

Gonna have my new GoPro Hero3 mounted to my helmet, aimed for infamy
