2014 Gary Routledge Ride and Show
Posted: Wed May 21, 2014 6:04 am
Bank Holiday Monday 26th May, will once again see local bikers gather for the Gary Routledge Ride & Show.
This annual charity event, which has become a feature of the North East motorcycling calendar, will begin at the Dyke Neuk Pub in Meldon, Northumberland at 9am. The route then takes in a run up the coast to a tea stop in Bamburgh before the return leg over the moors to Burgham Park which is the venue for the bike show.
As in previous years the bikers will be raising money for the North East Air Ambulance and the Riders for Health charity which maintains many motorcycles and other vehicles used by aid workers in sub Saharan Africa. This charity is supported by several professional riders including current MotoGP star Bradley Smith and former British Superbike champion Niall MacKenzie both of whom will be participating in the 2014 Ride & Show. Bradley will be riding an RD350LC and same as last year, Niall will be riding an RD500.
As always the event is open to anyone, with families being especially welcome at the bike show. There will be a charity auction and raffle while trophies will be awarded to the bike show winners.
Sorry for the late notice but if anyone can come along and ride and support the charity it would be greatly appreciated. Plus, you'll be riding alongside Bradley and Niall in the rideout, which is about 50 miles in total. There may yet be further additions to list of top riders.
Hope to see you there. If not, check out my photos of the day.
