Top Tip for over-use of red Loctite....

#1 Post by steveho » Fri Sep 07, 2018 2:53 pm

Tried to remove my front discs today and even with care, most of the bolts wouldn’t budge and the hex’s rounded out. So, welded M10 nuts onto to the bolts, and the heat destroys the Loctite (needs 150+ degrees C). Worked a treat. Hope this helps someone in the same predicament.

A good solution for an awful problem. Well done.

Good tip... think carefully before using red Loctite on anything you need to take apart again, especially if the fastener is small and fiddly to start with.
