Temp guage/fan

#1 Post by epa police » Sat Jan 28, 2012 7:26 pm

Got the 500 on the road now and am not'sure if the thermo fan is working or not. What area on the guage should the needle be before the fan cuts in. The bike hasn't been over heating or anything but as we all know Yamaha San decided to fit the smallest rad he could find to the RZ the temp starts to climb pretty quickly in traffic.

I'm told it will be almost in the red by the time it turns on.
A previous owner converted my kill switch into a fan switch.
Probably not the safest way to do it.
You can unplug the wires to the thermo switch and jumper them together to check operation for peace of mind.
Sincerely, Gary P.

Thats ok then, I was thinking of the toggle switch my self like I had on a CBR1000 years ago as they all failed at some stage.

Cheers
