Temp Gauge error

#1 Post by ukblade » Tue May 15, 2012 4:17 pm

I'm lost when it come to electrics so any advice would realy be appreciated.
My temp gauge is all over the place, rising and falling even when I've been on a decent ride and I noticed at the weekend (coincidence or not?) as I open the throttle the gauge fell and when I shut off it rises back to "normal" running temp.
I've earthed the gauge and it shot up vertical.
My bike has a manual switch for the fan so I know thats not cutting in.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks in advance, Mark.

I had a similar problem with mine and it was a dodgy connection to the top of the sender unit. I straightened and cleaned it all up and its worked fine ever since.

Check your connections, and also check your Earth connection to the engine.
