RZ500 headlight connector question

#1 Post by perryml » Fri Dec 28, 2012 12:20 am

My RZ500 came with the wiring harness completely disconnected, I am slowing figuring things how, however can something either tell me what the wire colors are for the headlight and does the headlight bulb connect to a plastic connector (like a 2 or 3 prong via a sub harness into the main harness) or do the wires off the harness connect directly to the back of the bulb. Thanks, Mike

Appreciate the help. To date I have the YPVS, CDI, headlight, kill switch and horn working. The bike is premix so I believe I have everything I need to get it running. Just got to figure out the turn signals and taillight and I'm good. Thanks again, Mike

Brake light should be yellow, tail light bluue, right turn is black and dark green, left is black and chocolate. Going to keep it premix? I run injector pump so I do not have to worry. Use Klotz snowmobile injection oil. All the ratings are the same as their other oils but good for additional 500 RPMS. Just ordered inline check valves due to the ones in the pump are leaking. Found them fo $15 each at a boat dealer.

I got the bike as premix only (it was mothballed) as three other owners had been working on the bike between 1998 and 2006 (when I got it). A wiring harness came with the bike but it was of course off the bike. So I have had to piece the electrical's together from scratch. The premix would probably not add that much more weight to the bike, but since the bike can never be stock again (the sub frame has been cut and YPVS rerouted into the triple clamp), I figured I'll just leave it premix. Thanks again, Mike
