i saw this. http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Yamaha/RD_5 ... tion_Unit/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

also these http://www.electrexworld.co.uk/cd4405-c ... 275-0.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

wondering if anyone knew anything about them , it looks new ??

they are a good idea but..

i think the zeel would be a overkill for a bike with only diffrent pipes and reeds , its getting no more engine mods .

as i hate having problems with tuning its my no1 hate in life

i just want to get on the dam bike and ride it

if bike with diffrent carbs and some porting yes i would go and get one

i have to many bikes that dont get ridden because they are not 100% . but im working that out on all of them :)

The good thing about zeeltronic is that it isn't only for modified bikes.

You can set-up standard programme and have the advantage of one small unit replacing two, disadvantage is that unless you have a knackered unit to sacrifice the standard connectors you would have to wire in new/different connectors.

i d go for zeeltronic , have bought over six complete units already and very happy with them , okay they re hard to setup for someone who s not skilled in electrics , but that also counts for all the other brands .

i paid about 230 euro s last time for a PCDI20v , that s all in one unit for the RGV/RS/TZR3XV ,pvs , solenoids and ignition programming ,switching maps while riding etc..and all is programmable via laptop or handheld programmer (program is free download)
Borut also repaired one of my units for free when i accidentaly blewed up one off the outputs

nothing then goods for the service after :grin:
my bikes :RD500 2X ,RD 350 F2 , RD 350 31K,RD350 4LO,RG500,RG250 WW,RGV250,TZR250 3MA,TZR250 3XV,NS400r,NSr250 mc21,KR1250S,

Hi vma500 !
You seen to have some experience with Zeeltronics.
I wisit their website and there is a couple of CDI:s to choose between.
Wich one would you recommend ?
Ref wiring/ install a ZeelCDI to the bike is no problem.
But the programming it up is a complete other task.
On that (if I end up buing one) I surely gonna need some assistance.

sorry for the late reply

am still using the old VCDI-04 and the PPV-RZ modules on my RD500 (3 modules ),these units still need the handheld programmer ,i used the newer ones (PCDI -20v= 3 in 1) on my TZR s ,RGV.

more modern unit for the RD500 is the PCDI-24v , this is the unit where u can program the ignition advance seperatly from both banks .
Wolfgang talked also about a more advanced newer one PCDI-44 ? wich has 4 seperate outputs for the coils
plse ask Borut ....he s very helpfull

I just paid 115 GB Pounds ($200 US here) shipped for one on eBay. Anyone that wants it can have it for the same price. And yes, I see your point with prices. Seems some eBay sellers are driving all 500 parts prices higher. Supply and demand will soon end the ability for the average guy to build a bike. The RZ350 parts are going the same way. It's just bloody silly.

Hey Nzminis, your right I did put the price of the cdi units up, on the advice of another forum member saying they were selling for around £200 on Ebay.
I did have a few people asking about them, but as my bike was away having some work done (cost a small fortune) I couldn't test them, now I know there all working perfectly.
Sorry you feel exasperated by 500 ownership, I feel your pain, everything I do or want to do to my bike is expensive.
Im not sure when you bought each one of your 3 RVZ 500's, but, Ill bet you wont sell them for what you paid, Why would you, you would want there current market value,
and the only way to find that value is by seeing what there currently being advertised/sold for.
Thing is It's all relative, the price of spares has increased inline with our bikes.
Went out for the first time this year on mine last weekend in the sunshine. There great bikes :-)
