Coil body sparking

#1 Post by rugbyrhino » Wed May 14, 2014 6:00 pm

My restoration is finally nearing completion, bike starts and runs only on.three cylinders then intermittently on 4, would a bad earth cause the arcing on the lower coil body or has the units flux inside broken down? I dont have access to a multimeter tonight but will do when I.can scank one! Any.ideas guys?

Check for a cracked or broken coil mount. Very common on the RZ5.
If I disagree with everyone, that doesn't make me right. If I take the side of only one, it doesn't end the fight. If my position's strong enough from exposure to the light, you may see things my way when we share the same highway.

Hi.
Don't think it's the coil.
Each coil is for 2 cylinders.
Check the spark plug and carburation.
