HORN NOT WORKING

#1 Post by tarjla » Fri Feb 13, 2015 11:12 pm

The horn does not work, not sure if it ever did! I tried a new one but still not working. If I run direct power to the horn it doesn't work either. The handlebar switch block is a brand new genuine one.I read somewhere about trouble after painting the handlebars and earthing is that correct? Before I start checking the loom etc has anyone got a tip on what the problem might be,cheers

I've powder coated bars and the horn has always worked.

It can only be 1 of 3 things: the switch, the harness, or the horn. Did you hook the horn directly to the battery. If you do that it should work. If not, the horn is garbage. If you hook directly to the battery and it does work, the problem is your switch or your harness. Could be as simple as a bad spade connector/wire.
