Led headlight bulbs
Hi
Has anybody tried LED headlight bulbs in a standard unit? If so how successful are they? I guess space behind the headlight unit might be an issue?
A bit like these.

Thanks in advance

Re: Led headlight bulbs
That seems a good idea.
But I can't determine if 80w/72w is the power of one bulb or of the pair.
If each one is 40w/36w you should go !
Else, the amperage could be too much for the alternator ( pretty sure ), fuse(s) and possibly wires.

Re: Led headlight bulbs
Do you spend a lot of time riding in the dark?
Re: Led headlight bulbs
Nor particularly, but was thinking off the added benefit of being seen in the day time. Brighter whiter light is probably better than a dull yellow

Re: Led headlight bulbs
This original yellow light is the best I ever had...
The contrast is way better than white light
I would never change the original yellow bulb to a modern white one.

Re: Led headlight bulbs
Most LED lights can't be used in Europe due to regulations. The cheaper ones are blinding traffic.
Re: Led headlight bulbs
I tried a similar LED setup on my RZV but found that there wasn't enough room for the whole LED assembly to fit without modifications so I decided to use a 5500K halogen bulb instead. The LED lights have either cooling fins or a small cooling fan in the rear portion of the assembly which is just a little too long to fit. When shopping for the LED bulb, I tried to find the shortest assembly but it was still too long to mount without modification.
Re: Led headlight bulbs
These fit in the headlight bowls, I use these in 4 of my bikes and never any overheating or problems,
