Post subject:  RZV harness question.

So I removed my rz500 harness from my RZV and fitted the proper RZV harness.
Everything lines up except for the right switch harness. There is no 9 pin plug on the RZV harness for it to plug into.
It has the same 3 pin connector as the RZ.
it is definitely an RZV harness as it doesn't have the kick stand relay or flasher cancelling relay plugs and it has the fuel gauge plugs etc.

Is there 2 different style RZV harnesses.
I was under the impression there are 3 harnesses. RD, RZ and RZV.

I will have a look at my nos RZV500 loom tomorrow.

There are two different looms for the RZV500 but the only difference is an extra earth wire on the latter loom (51X8259041)

Has your right hand RZV500 switch got a nine pin block?

Thanks Steve.
I have both switches, I have a 9 pin and a three pin, The 3 pin is from the RZ, The 9 pin is from an RZV.
This harness has only one earth wire, It missing the earth down on the bottom left side, By the rectifier.
Also missing the kickstand wires and kick stand relay and the indicator cancelling relay up by the clocks.
It does have the 9 pin block for the left switch.

Ok, I might have this figured out, I sen the OP a PM and lets see if he responds, I bought the harness off eBay from the OP on this thread.. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14942

Looks like it has been modified to fit an RZ....

Wish I bloody knew this before I bought it...............

Found the wires...
Hidden in the harness.. :)

Steve, Can you post a pic of the wire layout, Im using a new XV535 switch and the wires are a different colour,
The switch will plug in and work without any mods.
