I don't think they are from the original moulds Russ. If they were they would have the correct mounting tabs rather than the straight tabs that appear to be applied after they are pulled from the mould.

I would agree with you there, I took from your comment about fit that the shape would be same as original, and assumed they likely used the original tooling. There's a lot of dollars into making a mold for an injection press and I doubt you could make enough money selling RZ500 fairings to make it economically viable. It is also possible that they acquired original tooling but adapted the outer cavity to a sheet molding process, hence the shape being good but tabs being added on. Or I could be out in left field on all counts and they are doing something entirely different. :???:

The fit is quite good and when mounted it is hard to tell original from reproduction. The Chinese tabs are different, but the Yamaha tabs were never very good to start with, so in the end it really doesn't matter. Most Yamaha fairings have been abused and repairs are typically pretty awful. Unless you are after 100% originality the Chinese stuff works just fine.

They look like the originals but they are different. You cannot mix and match these with originals, they wont fit together.
The china fairings are light and strong enough. I only had to move one mount on the rear left panel maybe 1/8 th inch for fitment. You do have to come up with your own hardware. I used 5mm clipnuts and screws.

I think you can get away with using just the upper fairing or the solo cowl, but the hole locations on the rest can make it challenging to match to originals.

I purchased a china kit for my NS400R in HRC colors yesterday, and I asked to ship it without decals and no clearcoat. I want the have the decals added separately instead so I can locate them assuming they look right. If not, I get the right decals myself.
Do they use a dual layer paint ( base coat and clearcoat) or would the paint be matte and dull without clear? Shall I better order WITH a clearcoat, but no decals underneath, and apply the decals on the clearcoat?

I will report the quality

The clear coat on the China fairings is very thin. All decals are under clear coat, but I was able to remove them very easily by picking at one corner and pulling with very little effort. That left holes where the clear coat was and dull paint exposed, so yes Wolfgangh, a 2 step paint system.

Wow. If those pieces are usable ... that is quite a deal.

The pics show a tank. How does that work?

It's a tank cover.

I bought a set from CNBP store (Ali express} in May last year . All in price $431 U.S inc. shipping to U.K. Fitting was good, yellow/black paint scheme was a good colour but the lines from the fairing to the side panels didn't run that straight. There were a few paint blemishes. Main problems were the single seat cover didn't really fit well at all and the seat cover paint lines were way out, also the tank cover was so tight it split down the seam in the middle. (A replacement from ZXGY MT store is $90 US inc. shipping, but not fitted it yet). Having said all this it's still well worth considering as there's a lot of fairing for the money and my original parts are safely on the garage wall, leaving me able to ride without worrying that a minor stuff up is going to clear me out. Well, financially anyway.

Do you cover the OEM tank with some sort or protector before fitting the skin, I bought a Skoal Kit for my RG and I dont want to mark my tank as its mint,

Yes, really important, and I suppose always a slight risk. First used foam sticky circles (as used under ceramic ornaments or furniture legs) but this made the tight fit problem worse. Now trying covering the whole tank in low tack plastic tape. The underneath of the cover is also very rough and needs a good going over first. Some contributors on here have reported a really good fit though, it's a bit of a gamble. You can get neoprene rubber circular gaskets cut to exact sizes on e-bay very cheaply, and one of these around the fuel filler helped too. Not the best part of the fairing kit in my opinion, but other members have had a lot more experience of them.
