Fantastic build Bill. :smt007

Really came out great with the personal touches you added.

Nice air filters :smt002

Video of it running please???

Or are you waiting until after the show to preserve the "newness"?

Any plans to put it on a dyno? It would be awesome to see how much power you can tune with your bike.
Congrats on getting it finished.
How did it go at the car show?

Colin,

Yes for sure plans. My early work with this engine on the dyno using 28mm carbs produced 106.5HP at the rear and 63Lbs of torque. Given I didn't know squat back then about dynos or tuning for power on one things will certainly look a lot different.

Won't be firing it till spring long after shows etc. Still want to install the egt bungs, do some more sealing on the exhaust slip flanges.

Great finish of the painted parts, really impressed.

I would like to use slightly more 21st century mirrors, without any mods to the attachment point, which you seem to have achieved. What bike are yours for?

Big,

These are original Toomey's from the late 1980s. I modified the tailpipe that exits the silencer and then had the lot high mirror polished. Nicely enough Toomey still sells the high heat aluminum stickers which I replaced.

These pipe are way different in tune that the 'modern' pipes we see today. The tuned length is longer creating a power band that is lower in the RPM range and with the larger volume the peak torque is much higher. Overall revs are not past 10,600 with overrev with peak HP and torque well below the 10K line. They make way more peak HP and torque than others and don't turn the engine hard to do it.

The pipes were limited in production as well, with only around 50 sets produced. If you come across a set you should snatch them up.
