Shake "N" Bake!
Re: Streetfighter RZV Roller
Stripped the frame so I could do a proper chop. Took it as far as I could with the angle grinder.
The finish work will take longer. Good enough for fitting the headlight.

I envy your ability to focus and schedule, and not allow yourself to be stopped by far more real distractions than I have .
the meaningless crap that I allow to distract me and suck my energy is frigging embarrassing.

Thanks, GTV.
Finalizing ideas for the custom swingarm.

Re: Streetfighter RZV Roller
Well, looks like the custom swingarm is taking a backseat to other projects.
The builder hasn't been able to start on it yet.
I didn't expect this delay. Starting to get nervous because I'd like this roller to get custom pipes pretty soon. Still have to finish the current 2 pipes, and make 2 more, then the 500 pipes.
There's a chance I may need to forget the one-off swingarm, and get my R6 arm back. Hope it doesn't come to that!

Had another surgery yesterday.
Hurting like a MF.
This put a smile on my face, though.

Re: Streetfighter RZV Roller
Seems like a lot of tubing. Are you making more than one swingarm??
Re: Streetfighter RZV Roller
Sebastian originally wanted to make 2 swingarms. One for me, and one to sell.
I said no to that, even if it costs me more money. I put too much time and effort into my design, for someone just to plop down some cash and have the same arm. If someone wants to copy it, they can do it on their own. He understands, and is cool with that.
My swingarm idea came about because Sebastian built a tubing bender for his shop. This will actually be his first project using it. He's an experienced fabricator, with a great eye for details, so I'm confident things will go well.
It won't be easy to bend the 2 main swingarm tubes. Multiple bends, and the right side will probably be (sort of) gull-wing style - so it will be more complex to bend. It could easily take a few tries to get it right, so that's the reason for so much tubing. The raw tubing isn't very expensive, so glad to have more than enough. He's only charging me for the tubing he uses, and will keep the rest for other projects. I told him I'd gladly pay for any wasted tubing. He's a friend, so it's all good.
Re: Streetfighter RZV Roller
More good news! Cylinders arrived from Rick Lance.
Will get better pics when I can.
Using a front cylinder on the rear because the exhaust flange is in the same location.
Prepping an RZ350 for pipes now. The 500 should get pipes after the 350.
Need the new custom swingarm, and a custom tail, (or at least a mockup tail), and some frame mods, before making pipes. Much to do.

Sorry to hear about your health problems. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Bikes always brighten spirits, don't they?
Glad to see you got some cylinders from Rick Lance. He has helped me out in the past too. Nice guy!

Working as hard as I can to make progress. Would sure like to end up with a cool engine for this project. Rick has to be the first choice, when it comes to the RZ500.
Re: Streetfighter RZV Roller
Swingarm fabricator asked me not to post about it, until it's done.
So, hopefully won't be too long.
Just want to keep making progress!
