ypvs servo location
Hi
I cant put the ypvs servo in its normal position as I have installed an R6 (2CO) swing arm (with the shock tunnel plated over). No room under the seat unit so I'm thinking about putting it between the engine and the radiator (R6 radiator and not using the cooling fans so there's plenty of space). Do you think it will get cooked between the radiator and the engine or would it be ok?

Re: ypvs servo location
If it didn't cook behind the engine it certainly won't cook in front of it.
Re: ypvs servo location
Mine is still behind engine right near pipes. It was just angled a bit and moved back to clear swing arm
Re: ypvs servo location
Looks like a good location.
Re: ypvs servo location
I had the hole welded on mine also. I had a hard time finding a photograph of the end result of what I did.
But here you can see the custom bent bracket I made. I was concerned that it would contact the swingarm. But it never has.

Re: ypvs servo location
First try was right next to the engine in about 20cm height coz the bowden cables were too short and I just wanted to try if it'd work. Not a good place regarding to cornering clearance

Mine is where KYPKE put his. just a different type bracket.
Re: ypvs servo location
this is great thanks guys. I was sure the swing arm would hit it but I suppose there's not much movement at that position cause its so close to the pivot. I'll move it up and back slightly.
kpke and pstamper; did you shorten/bend the original bracket aswell as making an additional bracket to mount onto it? Also were you able to use the standard cables?

Re: ypvs servo location
Used the OEM cables. Will take a picture in a little while and send to you.
Re: ypvs servo location
Yes, standard cables.
The original bracket is used to mount to the new bracket.
If I remember correct, before I bolted the shock on, I levered the swing arm all the way up until it topped out and it did not contact the servo.
I was also concerned about heat from the pipes that there has been no ill effects.

Re: ypvs servo location
I think too close and are you sure the swing arm will not hit. I thought there also but moved it to the side like KPKE.
Re: ypvs servo location
hi pstamper
I haven't been able to check the full suspension travel but i think it should clear ok. Its quite near the swingarm pivot so i dont think there's much vertical movemnet there. it looks like its further away from the swingarm than kpke's picture???? (its hard to see)
how do you mean moved to the side?, would that not move it closer to one of the exhausts? kpke's looks to be fairly central, is it not??

Re: ypvs servo location
Yes, mine is basically centered to the welded up tunnel.
I think you are getting a bit close to the exhaust.
The servo may be ok but the cable jackets might not???
