Re: Ade Sym Terry Shepherd Bike Project
Here is the Frame and Swingarm that has been strengthened with Fillets in the correct areas to ensure the frame is as strong as it needs to be. It has then been powder coated in Satin Black.
The engine has also been fully rebuilt with New Pistons - Re-bore - Crankshafts rebuilt and Balanced - All engine bits have been cleaned and re-painted or powder coated - Samco hoses have then been fitted.
The engine has now been mated with the Frame!
The Rear shock and Swingarm have then been fitted to the frame. Shock is a Nitron with a external Remote
I have had 2 days free over the Christmas break and have had opportunity to start the rebuild.
I will post further pictures as soon as they have been downloaded so you can see where i am up to and what progress has been made!
Many Thanks
Ade

Re: Ade Sym Terry Shepherd Bike Project
A few more pictures:
As you can see i have managed to get a Billet Clutch cover for the bike which IMO looks pretty good.
Got the Radiator, Kawasaki ZXR750RR fitted and also the Samco hoses all plumbed in.
Also fitted the Dyno Coils on the Spars which is something new for me as they are normally hidden under the tank. The CDI and Servo controller have been fitted under the tank on a alloy plate.
END OF DAY 1..Long day.. More pictures to follow of day 2 soon.
Many Thanks
Ade

Re: Ade Sym Terry Shepherd Bike Project
Start of Day 2...
Started with the Yokes and got them fitted.
Soon followed by the Ohlins Forks - Previously off Hararda,s TZ 250 which are in perfect condition and if anything i would have had the bottoms re-anodised but there not that bad so i gave then a really good clean and they were fitted.
Carbs were then put into place along with the front subframe - Lights - Instruments
Brembo Clutch and Brake Master Cylinders now fitted and the Rear sets also.
End of day 2..
Back to work now so only got time in the evening and weekends going forward.
Look to have the Calipers and Hydraulic along with the Choke & Throttle cables on to the carbs in the week and then the Pipes at the weekend.
Wheels went away today as i could not get them in prior to Christmas so these will be away for approx. a week along with the front disc centre's and bobbins which have gone to the anodisesers as they were in a blue and red in colour!
Will post again with progress after the weekend.
Many Thanks

Re: Ade Sym Terry Shepherd Bike Project
Exactly where i am up to as of now:
Had to strap it down as it was becoming a little heavy and prone to falling off the stands!
Rear AP Racing calliper
K&N filters on the carbs
Master Cylinder and hose in place
SPA Tacho and Temperature gauge
Quick Action Throttle
AP Front Calipers
Heat Resistant Powder Coated Exhausts still to be fitted. Got this lead from Paul RD84 on the forum as he has had his done and looked beautiful.
So exhausts to be fitted some time this week and then i will start on the wiring which is not my area of expertise. So i am going to get the original loom in place, open it up, move the wires to where they need to go, re-solder the areas i am ok with and then bring my electrician friend in to use his wisdom to finish it off!
I will then focus on the tank, rear seat unit and fairings to get them to where they need to be before fitting and then get them in place.
Many Thanks

Brilliant! You do more in 1 day than I do in 2 years. Love your work.
Re: Ade Sym Terry Shepherd Bike Project
Looks like that might be one of ATR's quick access Billet clutch covers? Nice work!

This is beautiful and very tasteful! I have the same SPA digital tach. Is this going to be street legal? If so, you live in paradise.
What kind of bodywork are going to put on?

I have a carbon self supporting seat unit and matching carbon petrol tank which is going to be fitted. I think as this looks like the Athena one you have i may well go with the matching front fairing to these similar to your bike but just got to find a set!! The bike will be ridden on the road and has lights and brakes switches in position but not going down the indicator route!
Many Thanks

ATR is Canadian and in Silverstroms neighbourhood. I'm guessing here but John's Billet steering damper mount may even be made on their CNC machine? Very nice work there Ade!Hi, i think you may be right as it did come from the US but i purchased in the UK via Vin.

Ooops - Did not mean to insult the Canadians or the Americans but my understanding of ATR was not where it needed to be! Thanks for the comments on the bike - Adens86 wrote:Ade Sym said:ATR is Canadian and in Silverstroms neighbourhood. Re: Ade Sym Terry Shepherd Bike Project
Managed to get a few things done this weekend.
Got the wheels back from the painters and had the tyres put on the rims and fitted the discs.
Both now fitted back into the bike, chain on and bled the front and rear brakes.
Starting on the body work next week so preparing the rear self supported seat unit and the petrol tank for painting and then fit the fairings which i have started on the first fix and they fit fairly well for the initial fitment.
The electrics will then be done in the first week of February and then start it up and get it running right and then off to the painters!
Thanks
Ade

Great build Vin,
Mate what make are the clipons.

There are holes in the sky where the rain gets in, but the holes are small, thats why the rain is thin
