1973 Yamaha RD60

#1 Post by Butcherbayrunner » Tue Jul 25, 2017 2:24 pm

Can anyone tell me anything about this small cycle?
Got it a few weeks ago for $600usd(good price?), since I have never seen a 60 I had to pick it up(will post pics soon).
It's registered as an rd60 but my insurance classifies it as an RD250(no idea why).
tried to do an online frame comparison between the 60 and 250 . The 250 definitely has thicker frame tubing from what I can gather from pics.
Also, have done a parts search for the 60 and cannot find anything. Which is why I ask about the frame tubing. I have access to an rd350 motor asm and was wondering if the frame can take it?

Any insight would be great.

I have no experience with a 60. I have seen an RD50 in person. Very nice shape for a lot more money. Definitely a smaller frame than the twins.

I wonder if it's possible to stuff a YSR motor into one if you can't find parts?
