Yamaha GL750

#1 Post by Ron57 » Sat Sep 23, 2017 8:29 am

Hi, What would've happened if this bike actually went into production, was this an actual running bike or a mock up. I remember a lot of years ago reading that the bike went from Japan to France
for promotional tour. Has anyone heard or read about this bike.
Cheers Ron.

I remember drooling over the pictures and waiting for it to come out. Some sources say the engine parts were used in the first TZ700. Haven't really heard any solid facts however. I'd love to know more myself.

It was a prototype that appeared at the "Salon de Paris" 1972 with many dummy pieces.

Thanks for posting that, was good to read up about it. Would've been good to see a video of the bike
going around the track.
Cheers Ron.

Injection was only on prototype models.
Bike was sold with carbs, less than 800 produced.
Don't think it was sold outside France.
