I'm wondering how legitimate that bidding actually is. Anyone serious about buying one should know that bike isn't as advertised. Some shill bidding there?

That's because it's the best in the country, according to him. It looks like another tired and neglected bike. UK bidders must have plenty of disposable income

my understanding is that the walter wolfe gauges were only for japan not even for Canada. I hope Rick jumps in. He knows the Gamma

My guess is that the bike is not a WW. It is something that has been thrown together and prettied up with Chinese bodywork.
The taillight is a terrible fit. There were different sized/shaped taillights depending on the market. Perhaps the poor fit may be due to the mix of a UK taillight with Japanese inspired Chinese bodywork?
The seller says the bike comes with original purchase invoice from Eddie Grimstead Eastham London. The bike has UK mirrors, a UK speedo, UK warning lights, Uk temp gauge. Looking at the very shiny bodywork and the terrible looking gauges, it does suggest the lipstick on a pig theory. The pink bar end is a nice touch.
The seller has covered his ass by saying it is a "Walter Wolf Replica." He does not say it is a genuine WW replica. It's all about semantics.
Guessing again here: I think the seller has opened the gauges and repainted the needles and added new WW face overlays. That's why the the gauges look so awful on the outside and so pretty on the inside. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/RG400-RG500-STA ... NZ&vxp=mtr

Bet the sale ends before the auction expires and it then gets relisted. Or maybe one of his shill bidders will end up with it. No one in their right mind is paying 25,000 Pounds Stirling for that.

I did think if it was a WW, it also got the proper WW gauges as shown? Normal UK bikes didn't have a fuel gauge, the indicators in the fairing were not approved as too close together at the time, 'we' had big fat sticky out ones, and I also thought the mesh should be black and not body coloured. (my observations not 100% facts).

I think you nailed it but I will try to contribute anyway.
The tank is a repaint since the graphics are incorrect and missing the Walter Wolf "W" logo below the gas cap. The correct tank for this version of WW is the same graphically as the Canada WW. The WW logo is positioned incorrectly on the fender (too rearward by an inch). The tail is missing a WW logo under the tail light and the Full Floater sticker should be on the tail and not the side cover. The Walter Wolf script on the side cover is half the size it should be. The WW script stickers on the side of the nose fairing are incorrect for that nose and shouldn't be there. In a nutshell, the bike has been loosely resprayed as a WW.
Be aware that there were four different versions of Walter Wolf RG's. This one's a mismatch.
Wolfs weren't exported anywhere other than Canada (don't you feel special?) and were the only full power versions made. The U.K. market never got the Wolf (at least not made for that market and sold new there).
Turn signals are a mismatch. The upper pipe ends are dinged as when the bike is apart and the pipes stored on end. The tail fit is laughable. The light is std U.K. spec. White wheels are incorrect for any Wolf passing itself off as original. The clutch cable is wrongly routed over the ignition switch (which has a broken face). The bogus gauge set is a joke (yellow paint needles and a configuration that Suzuki never produced) with beat up rings as John mentioned. Mileage is now whatever the repairman wanted it to be. You can now order aftermarket sourced WW faced gauges in any configuration including those that Suzuki never produced as seen on this bike.
My favorite is the super long speedo cable routed straight up from the axle and behind the brake caliper. That's an original sollution to running the wrong length spare. The seats don;t look right. Either they are brand new or a very good recover. They look a little overstuffed to me. Possibly why the tail doesn't want to fit. All WW's came with a solo seat stock. Where is it?
His insistence on having provenance dating back to a new purchase of this bike as shown in the U.K. tells me he's not the guy I would trust with my Gamma money.
