Pick up coil

#1 Post by Poppyj69 » Wed Mar 18, 2020 10:59 am

Hi - my RZV500R is missing the pick up coil!
Can anyone tell me where I can get one from and what experience they have of them? I can see that the genuine part is no longer available.
Failing that could somebody measure the critical dimensions if you have one loose?
Dims:
A: Distance from backplate hole mtg cetreline to face of the inductive pick up
B: Distance from the mtg face of the back plate to the centre of the pick up
C: Width, Height and depth of coil body

There are a lot of coils around, I know I need something around the 110 Ohm bracket with a 35mm hole centre mtg..

Any help gladly received - desperate to get a tune out of it now!

Vin

Next to Borut you can get stuff here, too:

(sit down before getting a shipping quote)

Cheers Vin & MK - I'll update when I have made contact, looks like both companies are in Eastern Europe - hopefully not on lockdown yet..

Even if they were, the online business continues and the post still delivers.
I put an order @Ignitech last week but still waiting for arrival. Stuff from China still arrived even if dropped just a week ago.
My wife gets lots of stuff delivered as she's ordering 90% of her supplies anyway.

Keep ordering your stuff online/by phone to help your local companies!

And FYI: Even if there'd be viruses on the parcel, they wouldn't survive for long.
On glass it could be up to 9 days, but on rough surface like cardboard it's just hours up to a day or so.

Thanks for the info Martin
No luck with a pick up coil from Zeel - Borut said they didn't have them for an RZV500 / RD500.
I also tried Ignitech but have not had any response.
I think I will buy a PDCI-24V from Zeel as this looks like a sensible upgrade with more modern electronics and is not reliant on the generator for the high voltage to charge the capacitor.
I will still need a working pick up coil though...
I am surprised how hard it is to find a solution to this? I am sure plenty of other people will have had pick up coil issues / needed to replace 1?

OK Zeel have come back now with an option for a pick up coil which looks good.
Will fit and update
