The O-rings will seal around the cylinders.
My question was what do you use to avoid external coolant leakage.
If you say that, without any sealant, you will have no leakage, no problem for me : that's your bike.

Personnally, to reuse the head gaskets, I use copper gaskets.

There are 2 grooves cut in the cylinders in his case. Inner and outer o-rings. They are to stop the coolant leaking into the cylinder and out of the sides etc.

Both my 500s have o-ringed heads and I didn’t use sealant or any other goop. No leaks. No problems.
