Re: New Yamaha 2 Stroke
Wow! I'd be excited to see another two-stroke woods bike, like the old KDX models. Perhaps a 250. I am obviously growing very old, though, as $10k for a 125 seems nutsy high to me.
Re: New Yamaha 2 Stroke
I was hoping to see more from the YZ250.
Specifically a counterbalancer.
I jumped ship to KTM from Yamaha 4 years ago.
The counterbalanced e start KTM platform was too intriguing to pass on. Prior to that I had no reason to go to KTM, they had a half baked E starter with an inferior suspension and engine package.
Should of never sold my old YZ250 though, had an Eric Gorr 300 big bore kit with full porting.
Tons of fun but it definitely vibrated a lot. Ran like a scalded ape in the dunes.

Re: New Yamaha 2 Stroke
"Woods bike like the old kdx"
My scalded ape for CA dunes 500 mx 2 stroke seemed a little much for MA woods, so I got a beta 200, 2 stroke with autolube, which I was glad to have, e start which seems kind of unnecessary for a 200. But is handy at times.
Much Less than 10, but still seemed plenty pricey to an old guy. Much better than the kdx 200 & 250 my sons were riding a long time ago.

Re: New Yamaha 2 Stroke
The Yamahas are actually priced quite attractively.
A brand new YZ250X is $8500 CAD out the door.
A YZ125 is around $7600 CAD all in.
A KTM 250/300 XC/XCW will run you 12-13K out the door.
