Michael J. Krupa - (Mickey) - 1968-2011

#1 Post by jak167 » Fri Feb 18, 2011 1:55 pm

This is John Krupa, Mickey's brother. I was going to post some information earlier this week RE all of the appreciation both Mick and I had for all members of the forum who have rallied to help Mick complete his build so his sons would have his bike as a memorial.

Unfortunately, after a valiant but difficult battle, Mickey's cancer finally overcame his will to live. Mickey passed away at 5:00 pm. mountain time on February 17, 2011. His end was peaceful, they were not able to wake him at all on Thurs.

We spoke Wed. night and he was in great pain and having trouble breathing; but was excited bc of the efforts of the people here to help him and bc I was able to determine why his RZ350 wasn't starting (the carburetors were a little gummed bc he wasn't able to ride since July). Even at the end we actually spoke about how to jet the RZ350 and how he had been experimenting. And, fortunately, his boys were with him on Wed. doing their homework giving them a chance to say goodbye (even though they did not know it at the time).

I know it made him feel good that the community had stepped up to help another. It renewed his belief in those who have the motorcycle bug (even though we all r a bit crazy, in a good way). Once I get details RE services, I will try to post something right away.

I especially want to thank Brian Turfrey and Rick Mammel who through my brother I consider fast friends. Both of your work and concern will never be forgotten.

Once we get through this tough time, I will post some more about Mickey and his journey. I would also, humbly, ask that we as a group help Mickey finish his build so his sons will have the memorial he wanted to give to them.

LONG LIVE MICKEY!!!

John Krupa

My heart goes out to his boys you John and the rest of Mickeys family.

A tribute bike for his sons sounds a fantastic idea and look forward to seeing it's progress and if I can help I will gladly.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mickey knew all the members here were supporting him. It is a shame he did not see a satisfactory result with his engine. I hope his bike can be built and finished in is memory.

R.I.P Mickey. I hope you're screaming the balls off 2-strokes in a better place.

Really sorry to hear of Mickeys demise. I was hoping he would have a little more time and maybe have seen the bike completed.
It would still be a nice memento for his boys if the bike could be sorted.
If there is a fund being organised for this project, count me in.

This is really sad news. My thoughts are with his family. I would be more than willing to contribute to his bike, either with parts or with money.

R.I.P Mickey!

I hoped we had enough time to help make things right for Mickey :-(
Perhaps we can make it right for his sons. Please post any information here about needs for parts or money. And a big thank you to Brian Turfrey for your efforts too. R.I.P. Mickey.
Sincerely, Gary P.
