Re: A swedish wreck out on the roades again....
really nice bike you have there . looks mad
i want to do 17" wheels on my bike soon . was going to do yzf600 rear wheel and maby the 750usd front or thundercat front
can you comment on how the yzf750 front end works on your bike
does it ride nice . did you just press out the stem and put 500 one in ? and coolant tanks etc
and for the rear wheel . what mods did you get that to fit in the stock swing arm . where did you need to take 20mm off

The YZF frontend with 17" wheel works really great on the bike.nzminis wrote:really nice bike you have there . looks mad

And if you ad a 17" rearwheel you get a combo that really upgrades the bikes performance on the road.
To get the frontend on the bike I moved the steam from org frontend to the new frontend.
After that it was sliding right in but I did have to move andmodify modify the cannisters for coolant and 2T-oil to get clearence for the wider frontend.
The rearwheel was made to fit by taking off 13mm(I think) on the cursdrive and like much on the rearbrakestay.
Then it goes in the swingarm and lines up with the front and rearsprockets.

Re: A swedish wreck out on the roades again....
Forgott to mention that I also made spacers for the rearwheel so I could use the org rearaxle.
Org axle is 19mm(Ithink) and the YZF is 23mm, didn´t want to drill up the holes in the swingarm because I
want to be able to return to org setup if necesery.
Total cost for me to do the conversion was about 1500 Usd.
This for a -95 complete YZF750R frontend with rearwheel.
As said before the change to 17" wheels front and rear and updated frontend has made wonder with the bikes performece.
It takes slow and fast corners quick and easy, and holds the line thru them with stability.
With the Michelintyres (180 rear) I have it sticks like glue to the road and I can open the throttle really early.
I recommend this mod // Jeppe

Re: A swedish wreck out on the roades again....
Any changes to to the fork stops on the lower triple or frame? I am adding the same front end right now and the forks seem to hit the stops too soon.

Hi 2smoke !2smoke wrote:Any changes to to the fork stops on the lower triple or frame? I am adding the same front end right now and the forks seem to hit the stops too soon.
You are correct about the forkstops, had forgott about those.
I did take of a bit so I got enough freeplay on the stearing.
As usuall (for me) I didn't want to do it on the frame so
I did the mod on the new frontend instead.

Ok i will mod the stops to work correctly. I have another question though.Jeppe500 wrote:Hi 2smoke !2smoke wrote:Any changes to to the fork stops on the lower triple or frame? I am adding the same front end right now and the forks seem to hit the stops too soon.

My front turnsignals and tabs on the birdcage are hitting the forks.
I was thinking of doing flushmounts but i see you have regular signals. How did you get around that?

Re: A swedish wreck out on the roades again....
Hmm...all those small things !
The turnsignals on the birdcage I just bent away a bit.
Just so they made clearence for the forklegs.
As you see it's very thigt....but it works.

Really nice photos. If the quality is good, they'd be great to crop and blow-up as a poster!

Re: A swedish wreck out on the roades again....
Hi All !
I´m sad to say.........
This bike I owned since -09 has now a new home.
It´s been fun years but a whiplash-injury I got a few years back has taken the fun out of riding the RD.
Good to know that the bike is in good hands and it will be ridden and taken care of.
God speed
