Tachometer erratic.

#1 Post by pstamper » Sun Jun 08, 2014 5:41 pm

First issue with bike in long time. The tach all off a suddenearly in ride started reading 1,000 rpm low. It read 4,000 and I know at around 75 it should be 5,000. No issues with running the bike all day. Did around 160 miles with a bit of a hard run to miss rain on way back. When I put the blinker on the RPM goes up to what I think it should, and as the blinker cycles rpm varies by 1,000. Am taking bodywork off and double check wiring. Anyone else have this happen.

Your battery could be crapping out, try charging it. I've had the same thing and a full charge cured it.

Now that you mention that Rick did the engine 3 years ago. Battery was put in at that time. will let you know when I pick bike up from suspension shop.
